NUJ Celebrates As Ooni Picks EyewitnessMedia Editor, Adetoyese As Private Secretary

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Council has expressed deep appreciation to the Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, for appointing its member, Yusuf Adewale Adetoyese as his Private Secretary.

According to a letter of appreciation presented by the Chairman, Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu to the revered monarch on Saturday during an annual event tagged “an evening with the Ooni”, the union described the appointment of Adetoyese who is the Vice Chairman of the union’s Federated Chapel as an insertion of a right peg in the right hole.

The letter read in part, “The Union will forever continue to maintain professionalism in its quest to position the State for accelerated growth and development, as well as placing priority in promotion of Yoruba cultural heritage.

In a similar gesture, the Federated Chapel of the union congratulated its Vice Chairman via a letter signed and delivered to the Ooni by her Chairperson, Mrs. Kikelomo Owoeye.

The letter read, “We are delighted and do not take this call to service for granted. We believe that Adetoyese’s diligence and hard work in creative writing, journalism and public relations skills through his Online Medium EyewitnessMedia and his imminent contribution to the Chapel and to the State are part of the tools that stand him out to be elevated to the new status of Private Secretary.

“We wish to assure you that we will continue to support him especially in his new appointment to succeed and we will not hesitate to be his eyes and ears by giving him feedback to enable him discharge his duties diligently.”

Adewale Adetoyese who is the editor of the prominent EyewitnessMedia (an online news platform) is equally an author, broadcaster and public affairs analyst who has been an Assistant to the Director of Media & Public Affairs to the Ooni, Otunba Moses Olafare since 2019.
