Ola-iya and Abere route can be described as gate-way to Osogbo the Osun capital. The route harbours the seats of two organs of government of the state – office of the governor (and the State Secretariat); as well as the house of assembly.
Before now it used to be vehicular tug-of-war in the morning for workers and other residents of Osogbo who had no other road to ply going to their work places and going back home, as well as other residents going beyond the state secretariat.
The experience is even worse for residents of Dele-yes-sir area, the eastern part of Osogbo, and the Isale Osun area, who also had to get to the state secretariat Abere every morning.
They were cut-off; and had to go-round , more than half the lenght of the distance to their work places.
