No Workers Day Celebration In Kogi State

The chairman Nigeria Labour Congress Kogi state, Comrade Onuh Edoka and his Trade Union Congress (TUC) counterpart, Ojo Ranti disclosed that the organized labour in Kogi state on Sunday said it had canceled the celebration of workers day otherwise known as May Day.

Edoka said the cancellation of the May Day was to register the organised labour displeasure on the way and manner the state government handled its members so far.

The NLC boss also expressed his dissatisfaction that the screening appeal and complaint committee was yet to make available to the organised labour in order for the Union to come up with its observation, describing it as government antics not to allow labour have details contained in the report.

He explained that the non-payment of salaries to a large number of workers, pensioners over the las 14 months had destroyed the civil service and the workforce of the state.
