Nigeria’s D’Tigers lost their AfroBasket title to hosts Tunisia this evening with a 65-77 loss. D’Tigers started the game well finishing the first quarter with a 14-8 lead but the Tunisians turned on the heat in the second quarter winning it 17-10 to go into half time 25-24.
The crowd by this time was already behind their team who responded brilliantly in the third quarter winning it 27-16 with a 52-40 score in the game at that point.
Nigeria tried to rally in the fourth quarter but Tunisia were not to be denied and they rounded off the game with a 25-25 performance to finish the game with a 77-65 victory that gives them their 2nd AfroBasket championship.
