World silver medalist and Nigeria’s Odunayo Adekuoroye is aimed at winning a fourth gold medal at the 2018 African Wrestling Championships which began at the Alfred Diete-Spiff Civic Centre in Port Harcourt, Nigeria on Wednesday.

The three-time African champion said that her participation in Season 3 of the Pro Wrestling League in India got her prepared for the African Championships.

The 24-year old will be competing in the women’s 57kg weight class.

“I believe I have trained, and the Pro Wrestling League in India has really helped me too to> prepare for this (African) Championships,” the 2014 Commonwealth gold-medalist NWF Media.

“So I believe I’m full prepared, and I believe by the special grace of God, something good will come out.

“People should expect good from me because I’m ready to defend my title. I wouldn’t want to disgrace my country, and I wouldn’t want to disgrace my fans too.

“So I believe by the special grace of God, I’m going for gold.”

The 2018 African Wrestling Championships started in Port Harcourt on Wednesday and ends on 11 February.
