Nigerians Await Labour’s Decision And Other Newspaper Headlines Today

Reports of President Bola Tinubu approving a N35,000 provisional wage increase for all federal workers, takes the centre stage on the headlines of Nigerian Newspapers on Monday, October 2.

The Punch says Lateef Fagbemi, the attorney general of the federation, has refuted reports that he signed a non-prosecution plea bargain with Godwin Emefiele, the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor. The newspaper reports that the federal government has issued its first Wholesale Gas Supply Licence for 500 million standard cubic feet of gas per day to an indigenous firm to deepen gas utilisation across the country.

 

Daily Trust reports that BUA Group has announced a reduction of ex-factory cement price to N3,500 per bag. The newspaper says eight people were burnt to death after a tanker exploded in Delta.

The paper also has a story that that the NLC and TUC saying they would table before their respective organs for consideration the resolutions reached after a four hour meeting presided over by the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.

Daily Independent reports that a US court has ordered Chicago State University to release President Bola Tinubu’s academic records to Atiku Abubakar, former vice-president.
