The Super Eagles of Nigeria has clinched the 30th position in the 2024 Men’s World ranking, dropping two places from the previous 28th position.
The ranking, as released by the Federation of International Football Association on Thursday, revealed that the Eagles topped the 2023 CAF African Cup of Nations winner, Cote d’Ivoire, and seven-time AFCON winner, Egypt.
Having participated in two friendly matches after the AFCON tourney, the Eagles earned a 2-1 win against their neighbouring rivals, Ghana, and fell to a 2-0 defeat against Mali.
The Eagles rank third in African football, falling only behind the Atlas Lions of Morocco and the Teranga Lions of Senegal.
Ranking first is 2022 World Cup winner Argentina, followed by the tourney’s first runner-up, France.
In the third position is Belgium while the Three Lions of England hold the fourth place.
