The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has warned youths in the country against abuse of alcohol.
Mr Kazeem Adeniran, Assistant Chief Regulator Officer, Investigation and Enforcement Department, NAFDAC, Apapa, Lagos, gave the warning while speaking with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Ota, Ogun.
Adeniran identified abuse of alcohol as one of the major causes of crime in the country.
“We are appealing to youths in the country to desist from abuse of alcohol because this could destroy their future,” he said.
Adeniran also blame some of the road traffic crashes to usage of alcohol by the motorists because of its negative effects on sense of reasoning.
He appealed to companies in the country to join hands with NAFDAC in the fight against abuse of alcohol.
Adeniran also restated the commitment of the NAFDAC to intensify public enlightenment against abuse of alcohol in order to ensure sanity in the society.
