Miss Mexico, Andrea Meza, 26, has been crowned the new Miss Universe on Sunday. She beat more than 70 other from around the globe in the 69th installments of Miss Universe.
The event took place at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Meza finished ahead of the Brazilian and Peruvian finalists in a flashy televised event.
Yesterday’s event marked the return of the Miss Universe competition to television after the pageant was cancelled in 2020 for the first time due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Dressed in a sparkling red evening gown, Meza tearfully walked the catwalk as Miss Universe for the first time, before rushing back for a group hug with the other competitors.
