Man Remanded In Prison Over Cable Theft

An Osogbo magistrate court has ordered that Adebisi Idris, 22 years should be remanded in Ilesa Prison over electric cable theft. The charge sheet read in the court disclosed that the accused person committed the offence on the 28th of October, 2017  at Ago Ayo area, Osogbo.

 

It disclosed that the accused person, broke into the dwelling house of Adekola Adefisayo with the intent to commit felony, an offence contrary to and punishable under section 411 of the state criminal code. It further disclosed that the accused person, stole electricity wire valued N100,000 property of the victim, an offence contrary to and punishable under section 390(9) 0f the state penal code 2003.

 

The accused person pleaded guilty to the first count charge and not guilty to the second count charge leveled against him. The accused person has no legal representative.

 

The Prosecutor, Inspector Olayiwola Rasaq prayed the court to disallow the bail of the accused person to avoid jeopardizing the effort of the police in arresting others at large.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Aishat Oloyade ordered that the accused person should be remanded in Ilesa Prison Custody and she adjourned the case till December 4, 2017 for hearing.
