Man Remanded In Prison For Murder

An Osogbo Magistrate court has remanded a 39-year-old man, Abubakar Sulaimon over alleged murder.

According to the charge sheet made available to journalists, the accused person unlawfully killed one Idowu Imole by firing him with a gun, which led to his death.

It was revealed that the offence was committed at Ataoja’s palace, Osogbo on November 12, 2018.

It added that the offence committed was contrary to section 316 and punishable under section 319 (1) of criminal code cap 34 vol.11 laws of Osun state Nigeria, 2003.

However, the plea of the accused person who was not represented by any counsel was not taken nor did the charge sheet read to him.

While interviewing the prosecutor in charge of the case, Mr. Solomon Idoko, he said the plea was not taken due to the gravity of the offence.

The presiding magistrate, Mr. O.T Badmus ordered that the accused person should be remanded in Ilesa prison custody pending the next adjourned date.

He later adjourned the case till February 8, 2019 for further mention
