Osun state police command has arraigned a 45-year-old man, Amoo Olusegun before a magistrate court sitting in Osogbo on Tuesday over alleged fraud.
Olusegun is facing two count charges bothering on false pretence and fraud before Magistrate Modupe Awodele.
Police prosecutor, Inspector Lamidi Rasaki told the court that the accused person committed the offence sometimes this year in Osogbo.
Rasaki said the accused person collected N823,000 from one Ganiyu Adeoti with intent to help him with the clearance of one Toyota corolla 2005 model vehicle.
He said the offence committed is contrary to and punishable under section 419 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. II laws of Osun State of Nigeria.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.
Defence counsel, J.O Amoo prayed the court to grant his client bail in most liberal terms.
Magistrate Awodele granted the accused person bail in the sum of N300, 000 with two sureties in the same sum.
The case was adjourned till August 13 for hearing of the matter.
