Man In Court For Disrespecting Mobile Court Magistrate

Osun state police command has arraigned a middle age man, Jibola Azeez before an Osogbo magistrate court over alleged shouting on a mobile court presiding magistrate and causing breach of peace at the court premises.

The charge sheet read in court revealed that the suspect shouted on a presiding magistrate  Mrs. Olowolagba and also ignored her order thereby committing an offence contrary to and punishable under section 133 of the state criminal code.

It also disclosed that the suspect conducted himself in a manner that caused breach of peace in the court premises by making unnecessary noise which distracted the attention of the people and thereby committing an offence contrary and punishable under section 249 (d) of criminal code.

However, the suspect pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.

The defence counsel, Mayowa Folade, prayed the court to grant the accused bail and assured the court that he will provide reliable surety if granted bail.

The presiding Magistrate M.A Awodele admitted the suspect to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties who must swear to affidavit of means and their address must be verified by the police.

The presiding magistrate adjourned the case to January 25, 2019 for hearing.
