Senatorial Candidate of the Action Peoples Party (APP) in Osun Central Senatorial District, Prophet Adebisi Mukaila Michael has identified the legislature as a major arm of government that has put Nigeria in bondage of underdevelopment for years.

In a chat with Osun Defender, the clergyman turned politician said, beside the shenanigans of the executive arm of governments over the years against the masses of the country, personal interest have shrouded the legislators who have jettisoned the welfare of the people for personal aggrandizement.

According to him, if the legislative arm of government is determined to make Nigeria a better place for all, it would do the needful to put the executive arm on its toes and the standard set would be difficult to derail from.

He stressed that, even if the executive has the good intention to deliver, without a legislature that has the same intention, no good result can be achieved.

Adebisi who is the founder of Christ Awareness Church International, said, this was the basis for his decision to seek the mandate of the people of Osun Central into the Senate with a view to leading a course for the freedom of Nigeria through enactment of laws that would be followed to the level of implementation.

According to the Iragbiji-born prophet, Nigerians deserve better than what they are currently getting and it is clear that the parties that had been in saddle, particularly at the center have failed to live up to expectations of the people.

“As Nigerians, we cannot continue to live in the same old way which has continued to run us into trouble as a people, hence the need to change hands from the old that have failed to do us any good to the new that have potentials to do better.

“If our current problem in Nigeria would have to be changed, we must ensure that we have a legislature that will put aside their personal interest and allow the interest of the masses to take course through our votes.

“We can’t achieve this unless we have people who are ready to lead the course and that is what myself and our party APP stand for.

“We must all be determined to free ourselves from the bondage of underdevelopment that successive governments have exposed us to, and as Nigerians we can also do it through our votes which we must cast freely in 2019 and refuse to sell”, Prophet Adebisi stressed.
