Just In: Osun Govt, Labour Leaders Hold Fruitful Talks, Negotiations Continue Tomorrow

The Industrial Dispute between workers in the employ of the State Government of Osun and the present administration in the state might be called off soon.

A release at the end of the meeting of the State Joint Negotiating Council with the Osun Government Apportionment Committee led by foremost labour leader, Comrade Hassan Sunmonu on Friday evening by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Adelani Baderinwa says today’s deliberations were fruitful as negotiations continue tomorrow.

Baderinwa who said government appreciates efforts of both parties towards resolving their differences as the outcome of today’s meeting with the striking workers gave strong indications that the 2 days strike may end soon.

Other government functionaries at the meeting were the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, Commissioner for Finance, Mr Bola Oyebamiji among others including the State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Jacob Adekomi alongside members of his Executives.

Today’s meeting between Government of the State of Osun and labour leaders on the industrial action in the state was fruitful to the extent that there is tremendous progress in the negotiation.

The meeting continues tomorrow.

The government commends workers for their understanding, perseverance and support.
