JUST IN: NBC Sanctions Channels TV

 

The National Broadcasting Commission, NBC has suspended Channels Television with a fine of N5 million.

NBC accused the television station of violating broadcasting rule.

In a letter by the Acting Director General of NBC, Prof. Armstrong Idachaba, the Commission sighted Channels 7pm live broadcast programme of Sunday, 25th April, 2021, where the TV station allowed a leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB to make secessionist and inciting declarations on air without caution or reprimand by the station.

It stated that it is contrary to the code of broadcast.
