Iwo West Council Boss Assures Monitoring Of O’RAMP Projects

The development of rural communities in Osun, the management team of Iwo West Local Council Development Area has assured that all the necessary support would be given the Rural Access and Mobility Project (O’RAMP) team on the construction of rural roads in the council.

Chairman of the council, Hon. Ezekiel Adedibu made the assurance when the O’RAMP team visited the LCDA recently to perform the flag off of construction of some rural roads in the council area.

The roads include, Idi-Araba through Agberire through Fapo to Ogburo, which is about 17.47 kilometers; Obajoko market through Bobo to Foritaje, Loogun, Aipatenla, Asipa Oniyangi, Olupo to Agberire which is about 13.15 kilometres.

While speaking at the programme, held at the palace of Olu of Ilota recently, chairman of the LCDA appreciated the governor’s outstanding efforts at transforming rural roads, just as he admonished all and sundry to be supportive of the laudable project and the government of Ogbeni Aregbesola.

He noted that the management of the council under his administration has also shown commitment to the development of the council, saying this can be seeing in the developmental programmes embarked on by the council.

The council boss then assured that the officials of the LCDA would also be part of the monitoring of the projects to ensure that it is successful.

Adedibu also urged the traditional rulers, and the people of the council to support the projects and monitor its progression, urging that after the completion, the people should take ownership by ensuring that it is maintained.

Some of the traditional rulers at the programme were, Oloja of Agberire, Oba Jacob Gbadewolu Alajide; Ologburo of Ogburo, Oba Asimiyu Iyanda Agboluaje; Olu of Ilota, Oba Adetunji Akano; Alawuje of Awuje, Oba Oladosu Ajagbe Akinlawon with other prominent Chiefs from Agberire and Ilota communities.

At the project site, the team leader of O’RAMP, Mr. Adedokun introduced the project consultant, Advanced Engineering Consultant, after which the contract document was handed over to the project contractor, Stone Water Nigeria Limited with the support of the Kabiesis in attendance, the council Chairman, Hon. Adedibu; the Vice-Chairman, Hon.Rabiu Sikiru; Leader of the House, Hon. Adewuyi Ibiyemi; the Deputy Leader, Hon. Ismail Olayemi; the APC Chairman (Iwo West LCDA), Alagba Samson Okunlola; the Council Manager, Prince Oluwagbemiga Joshua Adewole; the Head of Social Development and Information, Mr. John Adewuyi and the Head of Administration, Mr. Oluwafemi Babarinde Aina.
