Obi, who represented Nigeria at the FIFA World Cup in Russia, signed a three-year deal with Chievo after spending three seasons at Turin with Torino.
Speaking to the club’s website shortly after his unveiling, the midfielder said he was excited to represent his new club as he hopes for a positive outing ahead of the new season.
“I am very happy to have joined Chievo, a very ambitious club. From the time I spoke with the manager, I was impressed by the project and I hope to be part of the success,” Obi enthused.
The 27-year-old was in the stands on Sunday when his new teammates defeated Pescara 1-0 in a Coppa Italia fixture at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi in Verona.
