Ife Central Council Boss Charges Workers On Commitment To Duty

The Chairman, Ife Central Local Government Council Area of the State of Osun, Hon. Elugbaju Olayera has called on workers of the council to be consistent, regular and punctual in their work with a view to discharging their duties as laid down  in regulations guiding their work.

According to a statement by the Information officer of the council, Salami Ademola, the council chairman gave the charge recently at the premises of the council during a get-together party with the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Ife Central Local Government Branch.

Noting that workers are the engine room of any administration, he said that it would be difficult for any government to succeed without the cooperation and commitment of workers.

He noted that once they do their works diligently, reward would come, admonishing them to always be up and doing in discharging their duties.

Eluyera thanked God and Governor Rauf Aregbesola for counting him worthy and leading him right to run the affairs of the council, just as he commended the council manager and her team for the loyalty and support for his administration.

While speaking, the Council Manager Mrs. Funmi Aromolaran appreciated Almighty God for being with the management to run the affairs of the council and commended the council chairman for taking issues relating to workers seriously.

She however charged workers to always be committed to their duties and strive to add value to the system.

The state chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Adekomi Jacob advised members of the union to rise to their responsibilities and always be at their working place at the appointed time.

In order to discharge their duties accordingly, he stated that the state government and the congress are not relenting on their efforts to give workers their dues, particularly in the areas of promotion, advancement and conversion.

Another unionist and the Chairman of the Forum of Council Manager, Comrade Yinka Odewale enjoined the workers to drop their political beliefs while in active service and concentrate on their work with any government in power.

Also, Barister Bisi Oladotun, the chairman of the Ife Central West Local Council Development Area, tasked workers to reciprocate the good gesture of the council management.

Present at the occasion were the council’s vice chairman, Chief Mrs Racheal Adejuwon; Leader of the House, Hon. Mrs Titilade Aderemi and Hon Mrs. Bamisola Olawumi among others.
