IBEDC Denies Load-shedding Some Customers In Osogbo

By Solomon Odeniyi

The Management of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) in Osun region has debunked an online report that the company intentionally load-shed its customers in some areas in Osogbo.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the IBEDC in Osun, Mrs Kikelomo Owoeye, the company would not load-shed its customers because of some people who are engaging in illegal connection or energy theft as claimed in the report.

Owoeye said the management of the IBEDC has good relationship with the law enforcement agencies and they have been assisting in dealing with the menace of energy theft by arresting the perpetrators in such act of socio economic sabotage.

She said: “While we hold newsmen in high esteem, in recognition of the critical roles they play in the society, we urge all fake news merchants to desist from spreading unconfirmed reports, as doing so portends serious danger for the society.

“We want to reassure our teeming customers that we are still committed to rendering quality services and they should not hesitate to explore our entire Customers’ Complaints Channels or visit our offices whenever they have complaints bordering on our services. We assure that such will be attended to promptly and properly.

“We want to urge our customers to disregard any information that is not coming from the Regional Communication Officer of the location or a top Management officer from the Head office.”
