I Never Expected The Police To Disclose My Residential Address – Timi Dakolo

Singer, Timi Dakolo has expressed concerns over the safety of his family, after ‘strange men with guns’ visited their residence to serve him and his wife, Busola, a letter on Saturday.

He alleged that since the visit, the lives of his family have been put at risk by ‘strange faces’.

Mr Dakolo had on Saturday in a social media post, raised an alarm alleging that, the visit by the men was an act of “institutionalized intimidation.”

Meanwhile, the police in a statement stated that the men served official Invitation letters, and are not synonymous with a Warrant of Arrest, and must not be construed to be one.

However, the singer explained at a press briefing that his wife, Busola, a photographer, had filed a petition against the founder of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Pastor Abiodun Fatoyinbo, alleging him of raping her when she was a teenager.

“On the 27th of June, my wife, through her legal representative filed a petition at a police station about Mr Biodun Fatoyinbo of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, for raping a minor.

“The petition was filed at the office of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in Alagbon, Ikoyi. We had four meetings, over six hours at the police station, the day before and the day after.”

He added that the AIG asked for an expeditious action after assigning the file to an investigative team, and his family decided not to publicise the development because of their believe that the law will be followed duly.

“The AIG himself personally assigned the file and immediately asked for an expeditious action to investigate the case.

“We decided not to publicise the fact that we had our case filed as we believe the law will be followed duly.”

While narrating the incident that occurred on Saturday, Mr Dakolo alleged that the actions of the men showed that they wanted to abduct him or his wife.

“I never expected that our residential address where my children live will be released to the public. Since then, I have noticed how my life, my wife’s life, and my children have been put to risk by strange faces.

“The attempt on Saturday to abduct my wife or me because the people that came to drop a letter at my house came with guns and a tinted vehicle.

“When they followed my wife into the compound, someone said that his boss wanted to see her in the bus and she refused to go see the person.”

The latest development comes weeks after his wife; Busola Dakolo alleged that Pastor Abiodun Fatoyinbo, had raped her when she was a teenager.

Subsequently, the pastor stepped-down as calls for the case to be investigated mounted.
