The Organising and Publicity Secretary of Omoluabi Progressives, Comrade Abosede Oluwaseun, has refuted media reports that he advised former Governor of Osun and patron of the group, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, to beg President Bola Tinubu.
In a statement on Tuesday, Oluwaseun denied media reports claiming the Omoluabi Progressives has accepted and is willing to look into the advise of House of Representatives member, Oluwole Oke, where he urged the former Minister of Interior to apologise to the President.

The group’s spokesperson said his reaction to the several pleas by some political parties, including the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as well as other political leaders, that the camp should join forces with them ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Osun was misconstrued.
His words, “My attention has been drawn to a report by a national newspaper with the headline: “Aregbesola’s camp welcomes advice to beg Tinubu.”
“I categorically state that I never advised Aregbesola to apologise to Tinubu or made any statement to that effect. I urge the media to accurately report comments made during interviews and public engagements without embellishment or misrepresentation.”
