Hon. Adelani Eulogies Aregbesola At 64

A former Commissioner of information & Strategy in the State of Osun, Hon. Baderinwa Adelani, has discribed the Minister of interior, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, as a special person who thinks out of the box and does things differently.

Hon. Adelani made this known, on Tuesday, in Osogbo, the state capital during a prayer session to mark the 64th birthday of the two term governor of the State.

The program was organised by a Non governmental organization, Awolowo center for Philosophy and Idiology, Osogbo.

According to him, Aregbesola is different from the general human species. He is someone who thinks out of the box and does things differently.

He further stated that Aregbesola’s name seems to play a pivotal role in what has become of his life.

“In Yoruba land, name has high significance. It gives out who the person is without much ado and it is the case with Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola.

“In the Holy Quran, the meaning of RAUF is “the servant of God that is elevated”, he stated.

Adelani said the Minister has always used his position to serve the people and that is why he has always been elevated and favoured in life by Almighty Allah.

Speaking further, Adelani said Rauf’s tenure in the State of Osun as Governor remains indelible.

“His touch on every facets of human life are distinguished. It is impossible to talk of growth and development of Osun without ample reference to him, even when you hate him.

“His family name is Aregbesola. The name must, by estimation be rooted in the deep Yoruba tradition. Simply translated to ‘one who thrives well in the midst of the people’. This perhaps explains the essence of his politics”.

“He is someone who is committed to rewarding the people who stood by him with selfless service embedded in the delivery of dividends of democracy”.
