Harmonious Leadership Earns Aregbesola Anglican Communion Award

DIOCESE of Ijesa North, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion will today honour the former governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola with the “EPISCOPAL ECUMENICAL AWARD” in the diocese.

The award, according to a letter signed by Rt. Rev. Dr. Isaac I. Oluyamo, the Bishop of the Diocese Ijesa North, is the first of its kind in the Anglican Communion nationwide and would be bestowed on Aregbesola as a result of his harmonious leadership style.

The event would hold at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Oke’nisa, Ijebu-Ijesa by 10am.

The letter reads in part: “We appreciate God for how He started the journey with you as the Executive Governor of State of Osun for Eight Years. We acknowledge and appreciate your matchless attitude to sponsor Christians and Muslims in the State of Osun on pilgrimages in which our Bishop: THE RT. REV. DR. ISAAC I. OLUYAMO, JP was one of the co-board members.

“Your Appointment as the “Minister of Interior” is a compensation from God to applaud your good works in the State of Osun as former Governor. We also trust that you will serve excellently well, representing God and humanity in this new post. May the Lord continue to lift you high in all ramifications.  Amen.

“On this note, the Lord Bishop of ljesa North Diocese has resolved to crown your elevation with an award: “EPISCOPAL ECUMENICAL AWARD” in the Diocese of ljesa North; the first of its kind in the Anglican Communion nationwide. This is attributed to your harmonious leadership style.”
