Gunmen Kill NSCDC Officers, Kidnap Many In Ekiti

 

Suspected gunmen have killed operative of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC in Ekiti State and kidnapped many person in the State.

It was gathered that the incident happened along Oke Ako – Ajowa road in Ikole local government of the State.

Speaking with newsmen in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday, the Command Public Relations Officers, Mr Tolu Afolabi, confirmed the incident said investigation is ongoing to arrest the perpetrators of the evil act.

According to him, “one of our officer was shot dead yesterday on his way from Ado Ekiti to his home town while others were kidnapped by gunmen.”

Source in the town had told newsmen that the officer, who was travelling from Ado Ekiti to his home town, was attacked in his vehicle and shot dead while the gunmen kidnapped his younger brother and two children with him in the car.

According to the source hunters in the neighbouring communities had started combing the bush for possibility of apprehending the gunmen.

Also, The Regent of Oke Ako, Princess Tinuade Ogunbiyi said she got the information that somebody was shot dead on the road while others were kidnapped, saying It is the same thing repeating itself on a daily basis.
