Gunmen Kidnap Osun Vanguard Correspondent’s Brother

Some unknown kidnappers have kidnapped the brother of the State of Osun Correspondent of Vanguard Newspaper, Otunba Gbenga Olarinoye, Deacon Michael Olarinoye, on Sunday night.

Deacon Olarinoye was returning to his base in Warri with members of his family after the burial of their late mother Mrs Abigail Olarinoye at the weekend in ipee, Kwara state.

The incident happened at about 9:00pm  during heavy rain while driving between Okada and Benin road when the six men kidnap gang suddenly stopped them after sporadic gunshots that deflated the tyres of the vehicle in which they are travelling.

The kidnappers then entered the vehicle with them and led them into the bush where they were dispossessed of their valuables .

The wife and the children and junior brother were later released while Deacon Olarinoye was taken to an unknown destination.

The matter has been reported at SIB,  Benin but no contact has been established with the kidnappers since then.
