Germany’s Frankfurt International Airport Placed On Lockdown Following A Security Breach

Part of a terminal at Frankfurt Airport in Germany was placed on lockdown with some parts being evacuated.

According to reports Federal police have stopped boarding at part of the airport’s Terminal 1 and are evacuating part of the security area.

A spokesman said they believe an unauthorised person with a child passed through the security area and disappeared.  “We are still searching for them,” the spokesman said.

In a tweet the federal police said: “In area A of Terminal 1 at the Frankfurt airport, there are police intervention measures. This includes an immediate boarding stop and clearing the security area in levels 2 and 3. Further information will follow.”
