A Prince from Gboleru Ruling House of Ikirun, Ifelodun local government of the State of Osun, Prince Kayode Oyetunji, has lauded Governor Ademola Adeleke over what he described as a bold step to ensure justice, equity and obedience to rule of law in filling vacant stool of Akirun of Ikirun.
Oyetunji said posterity will always be kind to the Governor, “for the due regard being accorded traditional institutions in Osun, and special concerns for peaceful co-existence of the people of Ikirun and other communities that recently engulfed in crisis due to perpetration of injustice in selection and appointment of an individual to fill the vacant stool.
The prince commended Adeleke for setting up a review panel on the appointment of some traditional rulers, just as he urged him to ensure that justice prevails on the Akinrun stool.
He mourned the death of a member of his Gboleru Ruling House, Prince Lukman Olatunji, who was killed during on November 23, during an attempt to force the Akinrun palace open for the newly installed Akinrun, Oba Olalekan Akadiri.
Oyetunji prayed to God to give the whole family the fortitude to bear the loss, and for God to give departed soul a perfect rest.
He also expressed worries on the killing and destructions of new buildings in Akirun palace, saying: “For whatever reason, no appointment or position, or cause, warrants killing of innocent lives and destruction of property. ”
Oyetunji lamented that the absence of justice and respect for the traditional institution is responsible for unrest in Ikirun, saying that crimes and other criminalities reign in a society where injustice prevails.
