A former justice of the supreme court Bolarinwa Oyegoke Babalakin, is dead.
It was gathered that he died in the early hours of Saturday at the age of 94.
The deceased is the father of Wale Babalakin, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and chairman, Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd.
The late Babalakin, who was called to the London Bar in the 1950s, retired from the supreme court in 1992.
According to the announcement by the family, the deceased will be buried in his hometown in Gbongan, in state of Osun.
“With total submission to almighty Allaah, we announce return of our father, grandfather, an eminent jurist, justice Bolarinwa Babalakin , Jsc,( rtd) to Allaah this morning Saturday 4th December 2021,” the statement reads.
“Janaazah prayers for him will hold today at Gbongan in Osun state by 4.00 p.m. inshaa Allaahu.
“May Allaahu be merciful with his soul. Aameen.”
Babalakin was a former president of the Muslim Ummah of South-West Nigeria (MUSWEN).
