Fire Razes Students’ Hostel In Osun, Destroys Properties

Fire has razed a students’ hostel in the Igaa 1 area of Iree, the host community ofย Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY).
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Sunday afternoon.
Findings revealed that the fire incident, which destroyed documents and other valuables of the affected students, was reportedly caused by “poor power connections’.

An eyewitness who spoke with Osun Defender under the condition of anonymity noted that no life was lost in the fire outbreak.
He added that many of the students who reside in the hostel were not around when the fire incident occurred.
The witness further stated, “Firefighters arrived shortly after the
flames subsided. With their assistance, we managed to prevent the fire from spreading to other hostels.”
Efforts to speak with the agent responsible for the hostel were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
