Fire Officers, Fishermen Rescue Driver Who Plunged Into Osun River

Officers of the Federal Fire Service have rescued two persons who plunged into Osun river in Osogbo, the State capital of Osun on Saturday.

The firefighters who met some fishermen at the scene swift into action to save the drowned persons who their Toyota Camry car plunged into the popular River along Gbongan/Ibadan expressway.

The Federal Fire Service revealed that the driver of the vehicle and the passenger, a woman believed to be the owner of the car were on high speed along the Gbongan-Ibadan Road when the car swerved into the median and fell into the Osun River.

They revealed that when the accident and the vehicle fell into the river, a Hausa fisherman named Kabo and other local swimmers quickly rushed in and rescued the woman who is alive.

Meanwhile, the said woman was said to have been taken to an undisclosed hospital for proper medical attention while the driver was rescued unhurt.
