Two female teachers on Thursday escaped abduction by gunmen at Osi, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara state.
Osun Defender newspaper learnt that the teachers who are staff of Ikerin Secondary school in Ekiti Local Government Area were heading home when they were accosted by the gunmen.
Spokesman of the state civil defence corps, Babawale Afolabi, briefed newsmen on the incident in Ilorin.
He said operatives of the corps got a distress call at about 1630 hours of a failed kidnap attempt.
The operatives who were later joined by local hunters
of the town moved to the scene of the incident but the gunmen had disappeared.
One of the two women sustained minor bullet injuries.
The spokesman said the injured victim is currently in an undisclosed hospital in the town.
Meanwhile, the operatives of the corps in the town, are being assisted by the NSCDC’s tactical team of operation Harmony and local hunters to apprehend the masterminds.
