Famurewa Embarks On Tours Of Wards In Ijesa South

House of Representatives members representing Ijesa South Federal Constituency, Hon. Ajibola Famurewa on Wednesday commenced a tour of all the wards of his constituency.

During the tour, Famurewa who is also the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial candidate for Osun West expressed gratitude to the people of his constituency and Osun in general for the success of his party during the last governorship election.

The lawmaker also used the opportunity to present candidates of the party for the 2019 election for the House of Assembly and House of Representatives seat in Ijesa South

Famurewa who recalled the history of representation of Osun West in the senate said, “Since 1999, it was Sen. Mojisoluwa Akinfehinwa that first had the opportunity to represent us for four years between 1999 and 2003, it was Sen. Iyiola Omisore from Ile-Ife that represented us between 2003 and 2011 and Senator Babajide Omoworare also from Ile-Ife was elected to represent us between 2011 to date.

“When Sen. Omoworare will be finishing his term of office by 2019, it will mean that Ile-Ife has maintained the senatorial seat of our district consistently for 16 years, meanwhile there are four Local Governments in Ile-Ife whereas there are six in Ijesaland.

“The leadership of our party considered all these premises to decide that the Ife/Ijesa senatorial seat should this time come to Ijesaland. I have therefore been given mandate by our dear party to contest at the election of February 2019”.
