#ENDSARS: IGP Team To Assess Level Of Damage Arrives Osun

The commitee set up by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu to investigate the losses of the police during the recent violence that pervaded the #ENDSARS protests across the country has arrived the State of Osun.

Led by CP Abutu Yaro, the team visited notable places in the state especially areas where Police property and personnel suffered huge losses.

The command’s spokesperson in the State, Yemisi Opalola said in a statement that the committee’s findings will serve as an impetus for reconstruction and rehabilitation of affected areas.

Opalola stated that “The Osun State Police Command wishes to intimate the general public especially the good people of the state that, the Panels of Inquiry set up by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, NPM, mni, with a view to investigating the immediate and remote causes of the violence that engulfed some parts of the country in recent time which Osun State was not excluded have arrived the state on 13th November, 2020.

“It should be noted that, immediately the committee headed by the CP Abutu Yaro, fdc arrived the state, they commenced their work by visiting the various scenes of the incident where police facilities were destroyed such as Isale Osun area, Oja-Oba area, Oju-irin (Railway Police Station) old garage area within Osogbo and they visited the victims too.

“Furthermore, the committee visited Ile-Ife Area Command and Owena Ijesa under Ilesa Area Command among other areas visited.

“The inauguration of this committee is aimed at capturing the pictorials of all damages done to Police infrastructure, personnel in order to proffer suggestions on possible interventions towards reconstruction, re-equipping and requisite supports for the families of the deceased officers and the injured ones.

“Therefore, the Commissioner of Police Osun State, CP Undie Adie psc(+), commended the committee for their selfless service, a good job well done and thanks the law abiding citizens of the state for their cooperation and support during the trying periods, while urging them not to relent in their efforts in giving useful and timely information to the police for the state to sustain the tempo of being the safest state in the country.”
