EFCC Summons Okoya’s Sons Over Alleged Naira Abuse
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has summoned Subomi and Wahab Okoya, sons of billionaire businessman Razaq Okoya, for questioning over alleged abuse of the naira.
The Okoya brothers recently made headlines after a viral video surfaced showing them allegedly mishandling the Nigerian currency.
The Nigeria Police Force has also identified and detained a police officer seen in the same video.

There has been public outrage following the delay in the brothers’ arrest. Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju expressed his frustration on Facebook, stating, “The Okoya sons are above the law. A country of two laws — one for the poor and the other for the rich.”
The EFCC has invited the duo to report to the head of the Special Operations team at the EFCC office on 15A Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, on Monday, January 13, 2025, for questioning.
The invitation was signed by Michael Wetkas, the acting director of the Lagos Directorate of the EFCC.
