Diaplaces Otodo Gbame Resident To Seek for Hearing In Lagos High Court

The Otodo Gbame community was raided and destroyed by police who stormed the informal fishing settlement and set fire to their homes, according to rights groups and residents leaving the residents homeless.

This occured on Sunday, 9 April taking them unaware with reasons that Sunday’s demolition was carried out as a “security measure in the overall interest of all Lagosians and that militants were using the community as a base, an accusation residents and rights groups deny.

The residents of the Gbame community are currently at the Lagos High Court for the hearing of their case against the Lagos State Government to seek for justice and maybe reasonable compensation for this displacement.
