Crime: Man Docked For Burglary In Osun

A 36-year-old man, Kamaldeen Oke, was on Wednesday, arraigned before an Osun state Magistrates’ court sitting in Osogbo, for alleged house breaking and burglary.

The defendant was alleged to have stolen one Samsung handset valued at N120,000, one Techno Y2 valued at N18,000, one itel phone phone valued at N4,500, one Techno handset valued at N5,000 and a cash sum of N12,000.

According to the police, the property allgedly stolen belongs to one Tiamiyu Musefiu.

He was arraigned on 3 count charges bothering on burglary and stealing.

The prosecutor, Mr Abiodun Fatoyinbo, told the court that the defendant committed the alleged offense on September 1, 2019, at No 8, Ifesowapo community, Agunbelewo area, Osogbo.

Abiodun said the offence was contrary to and punishable under Section 516, 390(9) of criminal code 34 Vol ll Laws of Osun State Nigeria 2002.

The defender pleaded not guilty to the three counts charge.

The defense counsel, Muftau Abiodun, urged the court to grant his client bail providing that he would stand trial if granted bail

Magistrate, Olusegun Ayilara, thereby granted the defendant bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He said one of the surety must be a civil servant of not below level 10 and the other surety must be a house owner in Osogbo.

The case was adjourned to February 21st, 2020 for hearing.
