A pastor of the Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry, Mr Peter Akingbile and six other people were on Wednesday convicted by an Osogbo Magistrate’s court for driving unregistered vehicles.

The seven convicts were arraigned on one-count charge of driving unregistered vehicles.

According to the charge sheet, the convicts were arrested at Ola-Iya and Oke-fia areas of Osogbo.

Akingbile and six other accused persons pleaded guilty to the charge.

The offence was contrary to Section 4 of RTL 146 Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.

Defence counsel M Atobatele had pleaded with the court to grant bail to the accused persons, saying that they committed the offence on ignorance.

Atobatele urged the court not to convict the accused persons, saying that it would be injurious to their career if they were.

But the Magistrate, Mrs Olubunmi Ajanaku turned down the bail plea and convicted the suspects.

Ajanaku sentenced them to 14-day imprisonment at Ilesa Correctional Facility.

She gave N5000 fine option to Wasiu and Adebowale, just as she gave N3000 fine option to other convicts.
