A Magistrate Court in Osogbo, capital of the State of Osun presided over by Magistrate O. A Ayilara has remanded a 23-year old man, Yusuf Akinleye over alleged armed robbery and unlawful possession of a gun.
Prosecutor, Oladoye Joshua told the court that the accused committed the offence on the 15th of January, 2018 at Okefia area of the state.
Joshua said the accused with others at large, armed themselves with guns and other dangerous weapons, robbed one
Funke Ogunwoye of her phone valued N5,500 and the sum of N297,000.
He said the accused also had in his possession, one locally made cut to size single barrel gun which he could not give satisfactory account of.
The prosecutor added that the offences contravened sections 3(1),1(2)(a)(b) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act Cap RII volume 14, Laws of Federation of Nigeria 2004.
The plea of the accused was not taken.
In his ruling, Magistrate Ayilara ordered the remand of the accused person in Ilesa prison and adjourned the case till March 30, 2018.
