By Ismaeel Uthman

A 20-year old suspect, Jimoh Sherif has been remanded in prison custody by an Osogbo magistrate court for alleged murder.

Sherif was remanded alongside other suspects, Seidu Aliu (25) and Yusuf Taofeek (21) on the allegation of murder, fraud and conspiracy on Tuesday.

Police prosecutor, Inspector Elisha Olusegun told the court that the three accused and others at large allegedly killed and beheaded one Sanusi Isiaka.

Olusegun accused the suspects of committing the crime sometimes in the month of May and September 2017 in Ifon.

The police prosecutor said the accused persons were found in possession of incriminating objects like charms and a shrine where they perpetrated their crimes.

He said the alleged offense committed by the suspects contravened Sections 4, 213, 324, 319(1) 516, and punishable under Section 509 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Volume 11 Laws of Osun State 2002.

The plea of the accused persons, who were represented by their lawyer, Mr. Taiwo Awokunle, was not taken because the magistrate court lacks jurisdiction to entertain murder case.

The presiding magistrate, Mr Ashiru Ayeni ordered the accused to be remanded in Ilesa prison custody, just as he adjourned the case till December 21 for the mention.
