The former Minister of Petroleum Resources Diezani Alison-Madueke’s application seeking to be joined as a defendant in an alleged N450m fraud case in Nigeria has been rejected by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos.
The application was described by Justice Rilwan Aikawa as bizarre and a misuse of court processes.
The judge held that he would not allow himself to be used to frustrate Diezani’s imminent trial in the United Kingdom.
Aikawa rejected all Diezani’s prayers, including an order to compel the Attorney General of the Federation to repatriate her from the UK.
The former Minister had on October 3, 2017, signified her interest to return to Nigeria and defend criminal charges against her.
