The outgoing caretaker management committee of Olorunda North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), under the leadership of Honourable Quadri Owonikoko has completed the first and second phases of the secretariat of the council located at Ota-Efun, Osogbo.

The council is one of the newly-created LCDA by Governor Rauf Aregbesola in the state.

Owonikoko, in an interview said the construction of the secretariat started in July 2017 and completed in October same year, while the second phase was started and completed in December 2017 by the caretaker management committee.

He said the completion of the secretariat was borne out of the commitment of the caretaker management and the staffers to give the new council a befitting secretariat instead of a rented apartment.

He said, beside the construction of the secretariat, the council management team under him embarked on massive infrastructural development through massive grading of rural roads, rural electrification projects, development of education and health sectors, evacuation of dumping site, fumigation of health centres, elementary schools and many others.

According to him, his administration has ensured that no sector of governance is left untouched, despite the paucity of funds in the council, saying, this is borne out of the commitment to deliver on the promises made to the people.

“It is our belief that the construction of this new secretariat will guarantee a stable administration and make the workers more comfortable to carry out their responsibilities as council workers.

“I must thank the caretaker committee and the staffers of the council for the sacrifice they made to ensure that the construction of the new secretariat become a reality.

“I also thank the Baale of Ota-Efun, High Chief Tijani Sheu Olatunji for allocating land for the construction of the secretariat free of charge. This is a clear collaborative effort to ensure that the council has its root”.

He then charged the people to further support the council through payment of taxes and other dues towards ensuring that the outgoing and incoming management teams are able to build on the existing template for further development.

Other members of the caretaker committee are; Shakirat Adeoye; Mrs. Shade Adebimpe; Lekan Lawal; Engr. Olayinka Omigbodun, with Jide Ekunadayo as the Council Manager.

It would be recalled that the management team and the staffers have recently relocated to the secretariat in Ota-Efun.
