Enyimba of Aba midfielder Bartholomew Ibenegbu believes that his team is capable of defeating South Africa’s Bidvest Wits in Friday’s CAF Confederations playoffs first leg clash at the Milpark Stadium in Johannesburg.
Two-time African champions Enyimba have not lost in the CAF Confederation Cup this season and are fifthon the table in the 2018 Nigerian Professional Football League after 13 matches with 21 points.
“We know it will be a difficult game because Bidvest Wits are a top club in South Africa, but I think we can still go into it with plenty of confidence to win,” Ibenegbu told CSN.
“It will be a big game and an opportunity for us to go out there and show how good we can be, especially against top opposition like Bidvest Wits.”
Meanwhile, the seven-time Nigeria Professional Football League champions will be without Theophilus Afelokhai for the game, Completesportsnigeria.com gathered.
Enyimba are scheduled to depart from the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos on Wednesday night, to arrive in Johannesburg in the early hours of Thursday.
