Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists reportedly invaded the Gaidam Local Government area of Yobe state on Wednesday.
Reports made available to newsmen revealed that the terrorists attacked and razed down a Technical College in the town.
It was gathered that the incident happened around 9 PM on Wednesday night.
Reporting the incident, Vanguard revealed that twin brothers were victims of the attack.
One of them reportedly died on the spot while the other is still responding to treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
Sources that confided in the news platform, confirmed that the terrorists entered the town silently on foot from different directions and caused bloodshed after setting ablaze the Technical college.
It was gathered that Gaidam is the home town of the immediate past governor, now Senator Ibrahim Geidam located north of Yobe state.
Confirming the incident, Executive Chairman of Geidam, Hon Ali Kolo who spoke on the phone said he was informed of the sad incident.
He confirmed that the insurgents killed and also invaded some parts of the council destroying properties worth millions of naira.
Although he said, he was in Saudi Arabia for the lesser hajj, it is unfortunate for him to have received a distress call on the renewed attack, even as he said, details on casualties are still sketchy.
He said “Based on the information at my disposal, Boko Haram has so far killed, invaded Gaidam and razed down some structures including Technical College when I am in Saudi Arabia for the lesser hajj.
“I also gathered that twin brother were among victims of the casualty.”
