Plateau United head coach, Kennedy Boboye, says his side now moves into next Wednesday’s CAF Champions League first round, first leg fixture against Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia in boisterous mood after Wednesday’s 1-0 win home against Enugu Ranger.
Chizoba Amaefule scored a 77th minute header to hand the champions maximum point in the Professional Football League rescheduled matchday-nine encounter at the New Jos Stadium.
The Jos club are currently on the top spot with the win despite still having a game in hand.
They now face a more daunting task against Tunisian giants, Etoile du Sahel, in Sousse for a place in the group stages of the CAF Champions League (CAFCL).
Boboye praises Rangers for their effort in the game and states that moving to the top position in the NPFL table will enhance his side’s confidence ahead of Etoile’s clash.
“It was a tough game against a highly tactical team that came here to play for a draw, but we are happy that we got our three points at the end of the day,”Boboye told reporters after the game.
” The win is very important to us even as we go into the next round of our continental matches knowing that we are at the top of the league.”
