Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has ordered immediate restoration of power supply to the Kafanchan and Kaduna campuses of the Kaduna State University.
Dani also directed the immediate payment of all outstanding debts accrued from 2022 to the Kaduna Electric Company to enable the restoration of power supply.
Kaduna Electric Company had cut off power supply of the institution following the debt incurred by them.
Muhammad Lawal Shehu, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, stated in a statement that Governor Sani, upon receiving reports of the prolonged power outage affecting both campuses, instructed the Commissioner of Education, Professor Muhammad Sani Bello, to investigate the underlying causes of the blackout.
According to the statement, education is one of the major priorities of Governor Uba Sani’s administration, and the governor has given assurances that interventions and initiatives will continue to be implemented to ameliorate the challenges faced by students in all state-owned tertiary institutions
