Who to be the next Ogunsua of Modakeke is now a done deal going by the tradition of the ancient town.
The press secretary to the Ogunsua’s palace, Chief Sunday Olawoyi, told our correspondent that it has been the tradition of the town that a current Balogun replaces a late Ogunsua.
He said, ” the current Balogun of Modakeke, Chief Moses Oladejo Oyediran will be the next Ogunsua. This has been our tradition. Whoever is the Balogun of Modakeke will be the next Ogunsua after the death of the Monarch. But if he is too old or has a serious sickness, the Otun Balogun will become the next Ogunsua.”
He expressed that the Modakeke Progressive Union is in working to send an official communication to the Ooni of Ife and Governor Rauf Aregbesola for approval of the new Ogunsua of Modakeke.
