Atiku’s Former Aide Drags PDP National Leaders To Court

Segun Sowunmi, the former spokesperson for ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has taken legal action against the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for neglecting to organize a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.

Osun Defender reports that Sowunmi filed the case at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday.

The suit with reference FHC/ABJ/CS/ T024 includes the PDP and individuals such as the party’s acting national chairman, Iliya Damagum, national secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, National Auditor, Okechukwu Daniel, National Treasurer, Ahmed Yayari, and National Youth Leader, Muhammed Kadade, listed as respondents.

The national officers were taken to court in their roles as PDP officers, representing the National Executive Committee/National Working Committee of the party.

The suit also named the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as one of the respondents.
