Aregbesola Tasks Traditional Rulers On Peace, Security

The Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has told traditional rulers in the state to ensure sustenance of peace and security in their respective domains.

The Governor gave the charge today while presenting staff of office and instruments of appointment to the new Elegboro of Ijebu-ijesa, Oba (Engineer) Moses Oluwafemi Agunsoye, Abikehin Ekun, Ilufemiloye, Agunsoye II at the Town Hall of Ijebu-Ijesa.

The Governor who was represented at the event by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Honourable Olubisi Samuel Odewumi enjoined Royal Fathers to also maintain peace and security in their domains.

Aregbesola congratulated the people of Ijebu-ijesa on the presentation of staff of office and instruments of appointment to the new Elegboro of Ijebu-Ijesa. He called on the people of the town to support the new monarch and work for its peace and progress.

The Executive Secretary of Oriade Local Government, Honourable Dauda Olomola urged the people of the ancient town to support the government by paying taxes and rates as and when due.

The Chairman of Ijesa North Traditional Council who is also the Akeji of Ikeji Ile, Oba Adebayo Ogunmokun congratulated the new Elegboro on behalf of the Council.
