Governor of the state of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has tasked information managers across the ministries, local government councils and other government institutions to champion their professional calling to service humanity and promote the society.
He said there is need for media practitioners to buckle up to their responsibility to the society for greater productivity and efficiency.
Governor Aregbesola stated this while declaring open, One-Day Workshop organized by Osun Action Strategy and Development Group, at Multi-Purpose Hall of Local Government Service Commission, State Secretariat, Abere, Osogbo.
The seminar which has a theme “Leap-Frogging Perception” was organized for information officers in the ministries, local government councils, Public Relations Officers of state-owned tertiary institutions and government policy drivers.
He said for the society to grow and develop, thus people must be adequately informed and exposed to new things as this could only be done by the media practitioners.
Aregbesola who titled his speech, “Getting Information Management Right”, said society is built on people and production, thus everyone must be conscious of his or her obligations to the society.
